James Perkins, Director

District 1

James (Jim) Perkins was appointed to represent the members of District 1 on the HILCO Electric Cooperative, Inc. Board of Directors in August, 2007. The District 1 seat was left vacant when former Director Kyle Cross was relocated to another state by his employer.

He holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University and earned his MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University.

Perkins retired in 1999 as senior technical consultant and section manager for electronic subsystems and guidance controls after 41 years continuous service with Chance Vought Aircraft and its merger companies. He served in the U. S. Army Signal Corps with the grade of 1^st Lieutenant. He also served on the Oak Leaf City Council as councilman and mayor pro tem from 1993 to 1997.

He and Jimmie, his wife of 48 years, have two grown children and have made Oak Leaf their home for the past 29 years.
