How to Read Your New HILCO Electric Bill

1) Usage History Chart - 13 month electric usage comparison graph. View your monthly usage and compare the current month with the same month last year.

2) Due Date - Payment must be received in our office before 5:00 p.m. on the specified due date to avoid either a late payment charge or a disconnection of electrical service for nonpayment. 

3) Amount Due - Total past due balance(s) and current charges. Click Here to pay bill.

4) Account # - Your HILCO account number is located at the top left hand corner of the bill detail section. This unique number identifies the specific account set up under your membership for the meter being read by the bill.

5) Rate - Rate schedule assigned to the account.

6) Meter - Your HILCO meter number identifies the specific meter form which current readings are taken and billed for this account.

7) PCRF FACTOR - PCRF is an acronym for Power Cost Recovery Factor. The PCRF is a direct reflection of the fluctuating cost of natural gas required to run an electric generation plant. For more information about PCRF Click Here.

8) Usage - The difference between previous and present readings of the meter, the amount of energy consumed during current bill cycle. Example: On this bill the previous reading was 17538 and the present reading was 18307. Subtract the two (18307-17538) and you get your usage total 769.

9) Map Location - An exact description of meter location on HILCO's mapping system. This number is helpful when reporting an emergency or outage.

10) Mult - Multiplier - Varies by size of meter. Used to determine how many kWh's are recorded per revolution. Most RESIDENTIAL METERS use a 1,000 multiplier or 1 kWh recorded per 7.2 revolution of the meter.

11) Payments - Shows previous month's balance and any payments or credits to account.
